Othos

  Othos is often lost in the clouds, as it is the highest village of Karpathos
in 510 metres altitude. This makes its amphitheatric built houses to be allocated in a panoramic view.

Traditional houses exist in the all villages, but here the visitor
can admire the stone made painted floorings, wooden "sofas",
the embroideries and the other local and Karpathian specialities
in a quiet atmosphere.

One of these houses functions as museum.

  In Othos you will find among other things a local artist called
Mr. Hapsis. He paints different motive's from the island, and sells
them from his gallery. He plays also local Karpathian music for those
who will listen and he gives tours of a traditional Karpathian house.

In Othos belongs the village of Stes, a region with grave vines and pure running waters.
